Dr Lisa Cottee is a highly skilled country Ophthalmologist. Lisa brings a woman’s touch with many years’ experience both here in Australia and internationally. She is one of the pioneering surgeons in phacoemulsification cataract surgery (which is now common practice) and has taught country eye surgeons this technique.
Nominated by The Hon. Thomas George MP (Lismore) for Local Woman of the Year Award Lisa is recognised for her inspirational humanitarian services. Lisa works extensively overseas each year operating on the blind and disadvantaged in Cambodia, China and Myanmar and teaching ocular surgery, dealing with such difficult cases the likes of which are not seen in Australia today.
Lisa takes a special interest in extraocular work including glaucoma, dry/red eye, uveitis, trauma and also minor ocular plastics – blepharoplasty, entropion & ectropion, lesions, biopsies.
Lisa is a mother, competitive rower and cyclist and now resides on the beaches with her family. (In her spare time, she continues to study, to feed her lifelong passion for learning).
